Your system starts and goes through the POST test, but then it stops and the last line shows “GRUB Loading stage2. Read Error”.
In most cases this error is due to a faulty hard disk drive or a corrupt partition on the hard disk drive. As a result, in most cases a new hard drive will resolve the problem.
However, in some cases this is caused by a fault in the hard disk data cable. If you hard disk is an IDE hard disk, try and replace the IDE cable first and see if it resolves the problem. If your hard disk is a SATA hard disk, it is very unlikely that the cable is causing the problem.
Finally, in very rare cases the problem is cases by a faulty disk controller on the CPU module.
Suggested repair procedure:
- Replace the hard disk data cable. Use a new cable.
- Replace the hard disk.
- Replace the CPU module.
