Beeping sound from the power supply

The power supply in your system is emitting a high pitched beeping sound. The sound stops when you press the green button on the edge of the power supply.

This scenario happens on systems which are equipped with dual redundant hot-swap power supply. The beeping sound is an audible alarm which indicates that one of the two power supply modules is not connected to power or has failed. If both power supplies are connected to power than you can identify the one that has failed by the status of its LED – it will be flashing.

Your system will continue operating as long as at least one power supply module is working, however you must connect power to both modules or replace the faulty power supply module to restore redundancy.

If you need to replace a faulty module, then you can do so while the system is working. Just make sure that you unplug the faulty module instead of the working one.
