How do I record with a Radio Mixer Accessory?

Please Note: The TRVR Radio Mixer has been superseded by the new-generation Total Recall VR Audio Mixer.

The Total Recall VR Radio Mixer accessory enables you to combine the the transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) outputs of a base station radio transceiver into a single two-wire analogue output, suitable for the Total Recall VR voice logger. Both the Tx and the Rx inputs have gain control so you can equalize the input levels.

Most radios have an Accessory Connector at the back of the transceiver. In most cases, the following audio outputs (pins) will be available on the Accessory Connector: Tx Audio, Rx Audio and Audio Ground.

To record both the Tx and Rx communication use a Radio Mixer to combine (mix) the Tx Audio and Rx Audio outputs and then connect the combined output to a Total Recall VR analogue channel. See also Recording from a Radio Accessory Connector.

The connection from the Radio Mixer to the TR recorder needs only two-wire (telephone wire) with a RJ12 (6P6C) plug on both ends (6P4C will also work).Tx and Rx Inputs use RJ11 4P4C (4 pin connector) connectors.
