'Kernel Panic' error on startup

There have been occasional reports of older TRVR systems displaying the following (or a similar) error following a re-start:

Kernel Panic: Attempt to Kill Init

This can occur when there is a physical corruption on the hard disk drive. In order to resolve the problem, you should take the following steps:

1) Check that the BIOS settings are correct.

You should email us with the Serial Number of your Total Recall VR system, and we will forward you a copy of the correct BIOS settings for your system, as well as instructions on how to complete this (it will require opening the system to connect a keyboard).

2) Replace the Hard Disk Drive

If the BIOS settings prove to be correct, we recommend replacing the hard disk drive. Please contact us, or your local channel partner for more information.
